« Addressing the dark matter problem using extensions of general relativity »

Constantinos Skordis

Galactic and cosmological observations are consistent with Newtonian gravity and with General Relativity (GR) only with the presence of dark matter. Several extensions of GR have been proposed for removing the need of a dark matter component but have systematically failed to fit large scale cosmological observations. I will discuss a recently proposed GR extension that can fit galactic rotation curves, the Cosmic Microwave Background anisotropies and the large-scale structure power spectrum without dark matter.
